My name is Dianne Schlapa, I have worked as the secretary for the Dalton Seventh-day Adventist Church for over three years. About forty-five years ago I was baptized into the Dalton Adventist Church. I have only changed my membership once during that time and that was to Hinsdale SDA Church, Hinsdale, IL (near Chicago) for about 10 years when I moved there with my husband. There I taught children's Sabbath School classes and was one of the Assistant Treasurers.
We moved back to Dalton in 1986. I began my church membership here typing the bulletin, so some things never change. Before that time, I worked as a legal secretary when there were no computers. Shortly thereafter I moved to Calhoun, GA where I worked at the Georgia-Cumberland Conference office. Over a work period of approximately 45 years, I also worked as office manager for two medical offices, Xerox, and Hinsdale Hospital as secretary to the Hospital Nursing Director and later at the LPN Nursing School and the Personnel Department. I am married to Duane Schlapa. We have three grown children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. God has blessed me with a full and productive life.
